MUD ROTARY DRILLING RIG UP TO 200 FOOT DRILLING DEPTH

Description:  This mobile drill rig is perfect for remote locations where larger rigs cannot
reach.  A small crew can be trained to operate the machine.  Submersible electric pumps or
hand-operated pumps can be installed in the borehole depending on the location and
availability of power, materials, etc.  Drilled wells can be installed for approximately the same
cost as a hand dug well in one third of the time.  Depending on site geology, community
water needs and resources, and site location, a drilled well may be the best choice for a
village water supply.  The rig is also very useful for initial site assessments to determine
site-specific geology/lithology, approximate depth to water and the feasibility of installing a
hand dug well at a certain location (e.g. the presence of large boulders can be identified,
which may prevent the installation of a hand dug well).
Cost:   Estimated at $5,905 (quoted by DeepRock)
Additional Information: Pricing includes all costs, including rig, drilling "mud" (i.e. bentonite
mixture), inland and sea freight, documents/customs forms and fees, drilling additives and
rods (200').  Additional materials can be added to the order at a unit rate cost.

CABINETS, COUNTERS AND COMPLETION OF KITCHEN IN CAMEROON HOME

Description: Although our home is well on its way to being completed on the outside, much work remains to make it livable in the inside.  Completion of our
kitchen would go a long ways to making our African home a home.  All this work must be done by hand (no pre-fab kitchens or counters in Cameroon!).  This
work requires the skilled labor of local Cameroonian carpenters.  During their stay in our community, they must be fed and lodged as well for the six weeks it
will take to complete the work.
Cost:   Estimated at $1,200 (Please feel free to contribute a smaller quantity).  Includes all labor, materials, lodging and transportation of carpenters to our
community.
GAS APPLIANCES FOR OUR CAMEROON HOME

Description: In Cameroon, gas appliances that use butane canisters (much like we use propane) are available in the larger cities.  We would like to purchase a
gas stove for cooking and a gas fridge to prevent food from spoiling quickly in the Cameroon heat.
Cost:   Stove estimated at $300 and fridge estimated at $500.  Contribute any amount.
BABY ITEMS FOR 2010-2012 TERM

Description: Baby Chloe will span a range of ages and sizes during our current term in Cameroon.  Many items are not available to us in-country and must be
shipped or carried over.  Some of the items we still need are as follows:
  • Clothes (dresses, zipper jackets, onsies, footsies, rain jackets, socks, shoes, etc.) for 12-18 mos. and 18-24 mos. capable of withstanding
    handwashing
  • Durable sippy cups (playtex #1spill proof sipster cup), baby shampoo and lotion (J&J)
Cost:  Varies.  Give any amount to be applied towards these items or ship to our U.S. ministry address (P.O. Box 9691 Tampa, FL 33674) before September
2010.  Please let us know if you would like your donation applied to specific items and if you send any items to Tampa so we can check it off our baby
inventory.
FLEXIBLE SOLAR PANELS/BATTERIES FOR CAMEROON HOME POWER

Description: A small solar array will be installed to power a few lights, charge equipment and run small items like our computer.  We currently
have two panels for a total of 128 watts, but we'd like to double this to meet all our power needs.  The link to the panels we have already
purchased is below.  The panels will need to be carried over, so they must be purchased before September 2010.
Cost:   Each 64 W panel is $225.
Additional Information:  Additional batteries will also be required to store the power generated through the panels.  These cost approximately
$160 each and can be purchased in-country.  They are not true solar batteries, but heavy-duty truck batteries from Nigeria get the job done for
a couple of years!

SUPPORT PART OF A WELL - PICK A PART

Description:  We know that it may difficult for individuals to fund an entire well
project, so we've broken up some of the costs for a hand dug well so that
supporters and sponsor part of the project.  Once all the components of the
well project have been funded, WTM will select a village for its installation.
Approximate costs are provided.  Contribute any amount to the following:

  • Site Exploration/Assessment:  $330

  • Materials (cement, sand, rebar, etc.):  $1,140

  • Pump (hand or foot pump):  $1,600

  • Labor (local Cameroonians):  $1,320

  • Transport/lodging:  $180

Cost:   The remaining costs are paid by the community "in-kind" through their
labor contribution (e.g. retrieving water/sand from the river, breaking stones to
make gravel for the concrete, etc.)  This also helps develop ownership on the
part of the community and improves the longevity of the well.  A water
committee is also formed consisting of local community members, and two
technicians are selected to perform operation and routine maintenance once the
project is complete.
MALARIA MEDS FOR BABY CHLOE AND MAMA

Description: After extensive research, Tiffany has identified a preventative malarial medication that is safe for her and the baby while she is
breastfeeding.  Unfortunately it is more expensive than what we have taken in the past.  Providing the funds needed for this med will help

Cost:   $791.35 for the 2010-2012 term.
Additional information:  Provide any amount up to the full cost.
VISA PAPERWORK FOR 2010-2012 TERM

Description: One of those things you just can't avoid when traveling overseas.  We're hoping to get our resident
permit this time around so we won't have to re-apply for another ten years!

Cost:  $146 per person
IMMUNIZATIONS - DON'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT THEM!

Description: You don't realize how many microbial things will kill you until you take a trip to Africa.  Although we've
had many of the necessary immunizations before, many of them are expired and must be done again.  A small price to
pay for something that could save money later and perhaps even our lives...

Cost:  $160
Additional information:  Please contact Nurse Tiffany if you would like more information about what we must be
immunized against.
